"No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to our education, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude, and humility. All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially when we endure patiently, builds up our characters, purifies our hearts, expands our souls, and makes us more tender and charitable, more worthy to be called the children of God...and it is through sorrow and suffering, toil and tribulation, that we gain the education that we come here to acquire" (Spencer W. Kimball, Faith Precedes the Miracle,98)
Ronald was busy today...can't slow this man down! Spent hours with a dear friend from the ward as well as numerous other friends. Ronald began attending a lecture series today along with the Cancer Institute doctors (He frequently seems to forget he is a patient at the hospital). Tonight, Family Home Evening was held in suite 4550. LDS Church Service Missionaries came and shared a message, some music, and fun conversation. Ryker and Syvanna played hymns on their violins, Ronald gave Father's Blessings to Rylan, Ryker, and Syvanna, and then Ron helped Syvanna with her math homework. Stephanie is right there by his side encouraging all who come through the doors.
We were just waiting for a mention of Ronald reverting to his doctor habits. Wonder if you can call this "continuing education" hours? As my husband says, doctors aren't usually very good patients, so prove him wrong, Ronald!
